What kind of a man was Dr. Frank?

Dolores remembers Dr. Frank as a kind, compassionate, good-natured people-person. He loved having people around him. He loved parties.

“Dr. Frank had a zest for life,” Dolores adds. “He wasn’t motivated by money but by the satisfaction of addressing human suffering.

“During the Great Depression, when patients didn’t have any money, Dr. Frank told them to pay him when they could. He’d take eggs, meat, vegetables, whatever he was offered. The food was taken to the kitchen and fed to the patients and staff. Many years later, after World War II, some patients finally came in and paid him. Others never did.

Dr. Frank served this community for almost 30 years, traveling the countryside wherever he was needed and treating patients in his clinic
