Weimar Public Library to Host Chess Class June 8
Remember last year when you said, “Maybe I would benefit from learning to play chess?”
Well, here’s your chance. David McCall, scholastic chess coach of La Grange, returns to the Weimar Public Library to offer free instruction in the game of chess.
Classes are scheduled to begin on June 8 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and are sponsored by the Friends of the Weimar Public Library.
McCall has offered his services as an instructor for the past two years at both the library and at St. Michael School. He welcomes old and young alike.
McCall, a former educator and counselor, believes in the many benefits of chess, like improvement in memory, concentration, and problemsolving.
Everyone can benefit from improved memory and concentration. This free program offers the opportunity to young and old to learn a new skill and grow mentally.
Please call the Weimar Public Library at (979) 7256608 for details.
