Walker Picked for LG Elementary Principal

The La Grange I.S.D. Board of Trustees approved several important personnel contracts at their meeting on June 27.

The board voted unanimously to hire Regina Walker as the new principal of La Grange Elementary School. Walker previously served as assistant principal of La Grange Middle School. She replaces Lauren Almanza, who departed at the end of the school year.

The board also voted to hire Jill Hutchins as assistant principal at La Grange Elementary and Justin Fiero as assistant principal at La Grange Middle School.

In other personnel decisions, the board voted to approve the following:

• One-year probationary teacher contracts for Allison “Ally” Brugger and Eve Summer at La Grange Elementary and Charles Griste at La Grange High School;

• One-year probationary dual-assisgnment teacher/coach contract for Christopher Puska at La Grange High School;

• One-year probationary teacher contracts for Tiffany Denham, Kara Koether, Jesus Martinez, Whitney Smith and Brittni Ward at La Grange Elementary with the stipulation that each is required to obtain and present to La Grange I.S.D. their Statement of Elligibility (SOE) or successful approval by TEA for an emergency certificate;

• Dual assignment term teacher contract for Katy Scott Williams at La Grange Middle School with the stipulation that she obtain a commercial drivers license within the 2022-23 school year; and

• One-year teacher contract renewal/extension for Kelsi Hrbacek La Grange Middle School.
