Vehicle Theft Burglaries Rising in Fayette County

On Tuesday, Aug. 15, Deputy Ulbig took a report of a grey 2022 Ram 3500 Dually with License Plate No. RVR5266 that was missing from the owner’s driveway in the Ellinger area.

The owner advised that the truck had a push to start ignition and he regularly kept the key fob in the vehicle.

Recently there have been a number of similar vehicle thefts and burglaries in surrounding counties.

The Sheriff’s Office strongly encourages the community to keep vehicles secured when parked, even at your residence, to make them harder to burglarize. Also remove your keys and key fobs from the vehicle when parked as failing to do so make the vehicles exceptionally easy to steal.
