Two New Bridges Open in Southern Fayette Co.

Contractors recently completed two bridge replacement projects in the southern part of the County, Fayette County Pct. 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann reports.

One bridge spans Criswell Creek on E. Radhost School Rd. north of Ammannsville and the other crosses Middle Creek on Holub Rd. north of Schulenburg. The two bridges were built using grant funds from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

“I would like to thank TxDOT for their continued support of Fayette County with assisting us with the replacement of these out of date bridges,” Brossmann said. “It is a tremendous savings to the county tax payers to have this type of grant funding through the state of Texas.

“This is a big step into upgrading our aging infrastructure,” Brossmann said. “The engineering and construction of these bridges are designed to last a lifetime. I would like to thank the public for being patient and willing to work with the county so we may continue moving forward on our projects. Brossmann said he plans to replace an additional six bridges in coming years through the partnership with TxDOT.
