Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Possession Arrest
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday evening around 10:45 p.m. Deputy Ty Roggenkamp while on patrol conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy. 90 westbound near Meadow Creek Drive on a 2022 Buick passenger car for a traffic violation.
When contact was made with the driver Roggenkamp observed a gray bag with marijuana on the passenger seat. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a large amount of marijuana was located under the driver’s seat.
Assisting Roggenkamp at the traffic stop was Schulenburg P.D. Officer Byron Powe. The driver identified as 27-year-old Keyshann Malik Fields of Waelder was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana.
