Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Tuesday, Sept. 6, around noon, Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffi c stop on a 2008 Jeep passenger car for a traffi c violation on I-10 westbound at the 660 mile marker near Flatonia. Smith made contact with the driver and detected several criminal indicators associated with drug traffi cking. Consent to search the vehicle was given and Smith located two bundles (kilos) that fi eld tested positive for cocaine. The bundles were hidden in the dash compartment. Assisting Smith at the traffi c stop was Deputy Herman Olvera. Arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center was 34-year-old Jose Aguilar and the passenger, 35-yearold Sergio Flores, both of Brownsville, were charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
