Traffic Stop on I-10 Leads to Cocaine Seizure, Two Arrested
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday, Jan. 21 around 3:36 p.m. Deputy Cody Williams conducted a traffic stop on I-10 eastbound near the 670 mile marker for a traffic violation on a 2022 Volkswagon Jetta.
After contact with the driver and further investigation a consent to search was given to Williams. Assisting Williams at the scene was Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith.
A compartment was located containing 10 bundles of what field tested for Cocaine.
Arrested at the scene and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center were 40-year-old Carla Ibet Gonzalez and 33-year-old David Alberto Gonzalez, both of Laredo, charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
