Traffic Detours in Fayetteville After Water Leak
Due to the volume of 18-wheelers passing through Fayetteville, the City of Fayetteville began coordinating traffic routing with the Department of Transportation, the sheriffs department and DPS on July 13 to investigate a water leak the next day. The traffic was rerouted from Hwy. 159 and N. Rusk on July 14 and the digging began.
The extent of the broken pipe wasn’t determined until they located and repaired it. The City wishes to thank Billy Vasut, David Malota, Lee Chovanec and Mike Drab for the six-hour project and a special thanks to Fayette County Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie for coordinating officers and reaching out to all parties.

Birthday Celebration
Kevin and Lorri Hromas recently celebrated Lorri’s 65th birthday with a large gathering at their ranch out on Coufal Rd. Kevin surprised Lorri with a two-week cruise to Antartica scheduled for De-cember. Joining in on the festivities were her brother Bill Gray from Dallas, her sister Linda Whetsell from Cypress, her niece Stacy Whetsell from Spring, sisters-in-law Marcie Hromas from Arlington and Sherri Hromas from Amarillo, nephew Chris Greene from Abilene, close friends Ed and Sandy Ross from Livingston, Barbara Kelley from Houston (who also brought the special cake decorated with an igloo and penguins to mark the cruise to Antarctica), Nan and Mike Duhon from New Braunfels, along with their daughter Lindsey Duhon from Houston and Jon Perez from Round Top, the best man at their wedding 31 years ago. Good fellowship, great stories and a massive BBQ meal from Nathan’s were enjoyed by all.
The couple have spent the last six years building their compound out here. COVID nixed the idea of a large meeting area intended to serve as a quilting retreat. It’s now “Kevin’s Klubhouse,” which doubles as his country office.
