Three Arrested for Ledbetter Murder

Lee County Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger reports that three suspects have been arrested for the March 5 murder of Carlos Ramone Green near Ledbetter.

Green, 36 of College Station, was found dead from gunshot wounds at property on Lee County Road 123 between Ledbetter and Dime Box. Investigators said Green was known to frequent that address.

Jayden Dangelo Medearis, 18 of Giddings, and Tavion Malique Williams. 19 of Midland, were both charged with capital murder. Atlantic Anthony Eredia-Johnson, 28 of Giddings, was charged with murder and aggravated robbery. Lee County Justice of the Peace Michael York issued warrants for their arrest on April 22.

The Midland Police SWAT Team arrested Medearis in Midland on April 23. The Gonzales Police Department arrested Eredia-Johnson in Gonzales on April 23 as well. Williams remained at large for a few days. At the time, Durrenberger issued a press release announcing the two arrests and vowed to “relentlessly pursue” Williams.

Then on Thursday, April 25, Williams surrendered himself to law enforcement in Midland.

“I want to extend our appreciation to our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners for their assistance in locating our homicide suspects,” Durrenberger said last week. “Again, the outcome of this investigation is a testament to the dedication and persistence of our criminal investigations team.

“I want to be abundantly clear: If you engage in committing a heinous crime in Lee County, we are going to conduct our investigation and then we are coming for you,” Durrenberger added. “We will work tirelessly to uphold law and order, and we will not tolerate the actions of those who victimize our citizens.”
