The Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation designating the week of April 12-18 as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week in Fayette County. On hand for the signing were dispatchers from the Fayette County 911 Call Center. Pictured (back, from left) were Jackie Moree, Sonya Lehmann, Laure Chollett, Sam Velasquez, County Judge Dan Mueller, Dispatch Supervisor Kim Haba, Adrienne McIntosh, Priscilla Dierschke, Julie Neville, (front) Pct. 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann, Pct. 3 Commissioner Harvey Berckenhoff, Pct. 2 Commissioner Clint Sternadel, and Pct. 1 Commissioner Jason McBroom. While the Commissioners and the Judge signed the proclamation, Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek spoke in praise of the dispatchers, calling them the “unsung heroes” of the Sheriff’s Office. “They’re our backbone,” he said. “We couldn’t do it without them.” Photo by Andy Behlen
