Teen Dies In Auto Accident

Landon Koehne, 16, of Schulenburg died in a onevehicle accident Friday on private land in Lavaca County after a one-vehicle roll-over.

He was a junior at Hallettsville High School and the son of La Grange Police Officer Justin Koehne.

In a statement, the La Grange Police Department said, “Sending our deepest condolences and sympathy to our own Sergeant Koehne and his family, as they mourn the loss of their beloved son Landon. May God give them comfort and peace during this tragic time.”

Landon Koehne was ejected from and then pinned under a 1974 open-top Jeep he was riding in, Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said in a news release issued Saturday. The crash occurred on private property in the 2500 block of County Road 211 about 6:46 p.m. The Victoria Advocate reported that at the time of the crash, Landon and the driver, who was also ejected, were on their way home after hunting hogs.
