Sunday Vittles, Fall Round Up Planned at Cowboy Church

Sunday Vittles, Fall Round Up Planned at Cowboy Church

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is planning a big Sunday Vittles gathering on Sunday, Aug. 30. Everyone is invited to come share a meal with their friends and neighbors. This is a great chance to come out and see what is happening at this little Cowboy Church. Bring a dish to share and sample other great dishes that others will be bringing. It will be a wonderful time to share a meal and visit with everyone else and maybe sample some new recipes or share your own favorite recipe. Fellowship begins at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts. Worship begins at 10 a.m. and the meal will be immediately following the conclusion of the service.

The plans are coming together for the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Fall Round Up coming up on Saturday, Oct. 3. Some of the fun items being planned are a silent auction, a general store, a cake walk, plant walk, a bounce house and all kinds of other fun things. It is sure to be a great time, so mark your calendars and plan on coming out to have some family fun. New Bible Study

Area ladies are invited to join GretchenAndrew in a new Ladies’ Bible Study beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Flatonia Baptist Church 9:30-10:30 a.m. This is the perfect chance to dive into a Bible study. This fall the study will be on the book of Galatians. Your depth of Bible knowledge is not a requirement to dive off into this study. It is a perfect study for both those who have done studies before and for those with no Bible knowledge at all.

Gretchen has all the study materials and is happy to answer any questions. If you would like to join in or have any questions, please contact Gretchen at (713) 515-2875. Make your plans now to come and join in this great study.

Out and About

James and I traveled to Fredericksburg to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed some great food from a several of our favorite restaurants along with one new one. There was lots of entertainment walking up and down Main Street wandering in and out of some interesting shops along with the fantastic people watching.

Roberta Gullick’s great grandkids, Charlie and Juliet Hill, enjoyed a surprise visit from Charlie and Juliet’s cousin, Lucas Foley from Livingston, along with their Aunt Alyssa. The kids really enjoyed playing with their cousin before school started.

Debra and John Schwartzenburg went to Fort Collins, Colorado to spend a few days with their daughter and son in law, Michelle and Tommy Mitchell, along with the grandkids, Addie and Ollie. Debra and John were there to help Michelle celebrate her birthday.

Nancie and Billy Blair traveled to Katy to have a birthday lunch with daughter Teresa Holland and her children Zoe and Spencer Holland. To celebrate they went to Spencer’s favorite place, Cheddar’s to enjoy a time of catching up with school, starting new jobs and all the details of what’s going on.

School Buses

Just a reminder school is underway and that means the buses are running in the mornings and in the afternoons. Please slow down when you see a big yellow bus and stop for the red flashing lights. Kids will be out waiting for the bus early morning along side the road, so be aware and pay attention as you drive in the area.
