Subjects Arrested for Possession of Cocaine

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday morning around 3:15 a.m. Deputy Austin Moore observed a white 2010 GMC SUV with a flat tire parked in the median area on I-10 at the 669 mile marker on the eastbound side with hazard lights on.

Deputy Moore stopped to check on the driver and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Moore observed in plain view a marijuana shake on the lap of the passenger who admitted he had more. The passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle and was detained when the driver threw something out of the driver’s window.

Moore immediately gave commands to the driver who was also detained. Numerous white powder flakes were observed all over the driver’s seat floor board and console. Moore observed more white powder on the shoulder and outside lane of traffic. The driver admitted he threw cocaine out of the vehicle. A dollar bill rolled up with 1 gram of cocaine left in it was picked up next to the vehicle and secured as evidence.

Also, two THC concentrate cartridges and a bag of marijuana were located in the vehicle. The subjects were identified as 18-year-old David Guerra, the driver, and passenger, 20-yearold Andy Aguilar, both of San Antonio, were arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijauna, and Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence.
