Students Build, Donate Bird Houses for New Hope Hill Park
The La Grange High School Leo Club built a set of birdhouses for the new Hope Hill Park in La Grange. They presented the birdhouses to the La Grange City Council on Monday night, April 8.
Leo Club President Genesis Parada said the club made the birdhouses at their end-ofyear party last May.
“Our Leo Club is ecstatic to be able to present these to the City Council tonight,” Parada said.
“They had a lot of fun and really learned a lot building these bird boxes,” said Diane Wilson of the La Grange Noon Lions, which sponsors the Leo Club. “Lion Michael Ahart was very instrumental in helping them make them.”
Wilson said Noon Lions member Daniel Lewis also assisted with the project. Lewis serves as a forester with the Texas Forest Service.
“He’s working with us to help us place them in the best location at Hope Hill Park,” Wilson said. Mayor Jan Dockery thanked the students for their donation.
