Structure Fire Quickly Extinguished, No Injuries

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Monday afternoon around 12:52 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on S. US Hwy. 77 past Hausmann Gin Rd.

The La Grange Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Fayette County EMS supervisor and Medic Unit 1. Also responding to the scene was Deputies Joe Gonzales, and Seth Nagel. Upon arrival it was reported smoke coming from a metal building and an employee was attempting to extinguish the fire. Deputies arrived on the scene and assisted the employee with extinguishing the fire with extinguishers and also retrieved two dogs from the building prior to the Fire Departments arrival. After the La Grange Fire Department arrived the fire was quickly extinguished and there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is believed to have started near an air compressor.
