Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Hosts Virtual Service, Seeks Musicians and New Worshippers
M ULDOON News
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, due to ice weather and the safety of their members, did not meet in person on the last Sunday of January, but instead meet via the internet and broadcast their service on Facebook on their page. Anyone interested in just checking them out online should be sure to go and check out their Facebook page and see the rebroadcast of the message and maybe check out prior week’s services.
The SG2C would like to invite anyone in the area to come on any Sunday morning. They have a coffee and doughnut fellowship to start the morning off with at 9:30 a.m. allowing everyone to visit and catch up. Then at 10 a.m. the worship service begins.
SG2C is looking to expand and develop a music worship team. They are seeking Christian musicians who are led to come and use their talents to help Pastor Butch out with music. Both vocal and instrumental musicians are encouraged to contact Pastor Butch or attend Sunday morning services to checkout where they might serve the Lord.
Deep Freeze
Muldoon became a deep freeze for the last full weekend of January. A frigid arctic front blew into the area on Saturday. Saturday night into ex-Sunday morning the area experienced a unique storm in the form of “Thunder Sleet” that left Muldoon under a cover of ice and sleet pellets and dropping the temperatures down to 18 degrees.
Roads in the area were iced over and very slick. Fortunately, the majority of the area stayed tucked in trying to stay warm while the ranchers all were out breaking ice on the water troughs and feeding their animals.
Icy conditions did finally begin to clear Monday as the sun came out and the temperatures did struggle to get above freezing. On Tuesday the majority of the ice that had built up over the weekend thawed out and soaked into the ground. Freezing conditions continued each night with temperatures dropping into the twenties.
Hogs in Area
It seems the hogs have moved back into the area and are wreaking havoc with fields once again. These menaces are very detrimental to the area. They tear up fields and crossing the roads making travel, especially at night very dangerous.
Be aware of the activity and drive aware. Black hogs are extremely hard to see at night and will do extensive damage to a vehicle if hit. Then the aftermath – buzzards dining on the carcass on the side of the road then flying up into traffic – can be yet another driving danger.
Neighbor Check
Check on your neighbors, especially during bad weather. During this last ice event, power was lost by a section of the Muldoon community. Fayette Electric was on the disruption quickly, but finding the issue took hours. The loss of power can be dangerous, leaving many without heat as Fayette Electric worked hard to find and repair the problem. Those without heat may need a place to come and warm up. Reach out and be the good neighbor.
