Stray Gathering Cowboy Church to Host Wednesday Night Youth Groups
All the area teenagers are invited to come and join in the youth group ROPE (Rely On Pray Everyday) on Wednesday nights starting at 6 p.m. This will be at the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church. It includes a meal. It is a great way to meet new friends, maybe catch up with some old friends and have some wonderful Christian fellowship. There is a nice size group who gather on Wednesday evenings and they welcome anyone else looking to join in this great group of youth, who are trying to learn more about the Bible.
On Thursday nights SG2C holds a Bible Study starting at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to join in is invited to just show up with their Bible and see what all the excitement is about.
Then on Sunday mornings SG2C holds their weekly worship service beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts. Worship service begins at 10 a.m. If you cannot join in person, they do broadcast live on their Facebook page (Stray Gathering Cowboy Church.) Earlier this month they honored the seniors of the church: Cutter Frank, Peyton Utecht, Foster Thompson, Cameron Dawson, Kylie Grubb, Monica Cerda and Payton Hashaw. All of whom are part of the ROPE program. Drop by and see what all the excitement is about.
40th Anniversary
John and Debra Schwartzenburg celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 21. They chose to have a few family members come and enjoy cake and coffee at their home in honor of this momentous occasion.
Graduates Bucknell University Camryn Anderson graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Camryn is the daughter of Jan (Wetjen) and Jarvis Anderson of San Antonio and the granddaughter of the late Leroy and Mildred Wetjen of Muldoon.
Camryn went to Bucknell on a full volleyball scholarship, where she played all four years. She will be taking a position in San Antonio with PesiCo.
Out and About
Nancie Blair recently traveled to Alabama with her daughter Heather Tillerson and great granddaughter Candence Schick. They enjoyed a trip to Dauphin Island and then traveled on to Gulf Shores on the ferry. They enjoyed lunch and had lots of fun playing on the beach, in the water and they even built sandcastles. The ladies made some special memories together.
Dana Kulak enjoyed having her sister, April Pospisil come in to spend a little time with her. April and Dana had their dad, Devon Boehnke laughing at their antics.
Kathy Chlumsky traveled to Katy on Monday to attend their grandson’s award and graduation ceremony. Connor Dong graduated to middle school. She got to spend some quality time with both grandsons, Connor and Hunter Dong. While there they also enjoyed a belated Mother’s day dinner. After the school event Kathy decided to make a surprise visit to her parents, Kenneth and Nelda Lamb, in Lake Charles. Kathy really enjoyed the chance to see them. They of course had some delicious food. And while in the neighborhood Kathy took the opportunity to pop in and visit her sister, Debbie David. The only downside to the visit was all the traffic and construction on the drive.
School Is Out
Please drive a little slower while out and about. School has ended for the summer and there will be more youngsters out and about in and around the area. This will change the traffic pattern until next fall as all the school age kids and teachers enjoy the summer off.
Ill
While out and about be sure and check on your neighbors. There is a stomach bug making the rounds just in time to slow down the start to summer. Your neighbor might need a little help getting groceries or some other little job done and need a little bit of help. It is a small community and we all need to help each other out.
