M
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is growing and is looking to expand and create a Praise and Worship team. They are looking for local Christian musicians who would like to come and lead this wonderful growing church with vocal and musical talents. They are so excited to be growing and in need of increasing their worship team in such a way as to give others the chance to give God the glory with their talents. Just come to church on Sunday morning starting at 9:30 a.m. and talk to Pastor Butch. Worship services begin at 10 a.m.
SG2C is also looking into starting a youth group for the area youth. This would be something for those youth who are looking for something to do to look forward to. More details will be coming as all the plans are made and announced.
Progress on the new location off FM 609 and Valenta Road is coming along with plans of getting fencing up and other land improvements. It is a huge undertaking and is being approach with prayer and lots of hard work. It is exciting to see this little church grow.
Saturday, Jan. 24, the Ladies’ Bible Study, Sweet Tea and Scriptures, will be meeting again at noon. Area ladies are invited to come and join in this wonderful group of scripture studying women. It is a great chance to meet up with other like-minded ladies who are diving deeper into the Bible. You do not have to be a part of Stray Gathering Cowboy Church to participate and is a way to meet others in the community.
Out and About
Ron and Pam Knotts recently attended a surprise birthday brunch for Pam’s brother, Ray Langenberg. Ray’s wife, Christy planned the small get-together out at their ranch near Hallettsville a few days after Christmas. Ron and Pam arrived midmorning with poppy seed kolaches from Weikel’s, one of Ray’s favorites. An unusual gift but much appreciated and enjoyed. Ray really was surprised and the party was great fun.
Pam Sheffield entertained her two best friends from high school recently. Holly Skinner-Klee from Kingwood and Susi Jones from Burleson came to stay with her for a couple of days. They met in Gruene for a lunch at the Gristmill with Susi and her husband Steve and then went back to Pam’s house. The ladies had dinner at Robert’s Steakhouse. The next day they had breakfast at Darlin‘s Diner and made a trip to La Grange for groceries at H-E-B. They also had to make a stop at Walmart for a couple of items. It’s always shopping and food with these ladies. Back to Pam’s for watching movies and catching up with each other. The next day they went back to La Grange to have their traditional Mexican food meal at Las Fuentes. These three ladies have been best friends for more than 52 years and always have lots of laughs together.
Weather
The weather turned chilly and very windy in the month of January. Strong winds and cooler temps came in along with just a touch of wetness. Hardly a trace of rain fell, but any and all moisture at this time of year is welcomed after the very dry fall. Colder temps are predicted in the upcoming week for the area.
Neighborhood Watch
Muldoon is a small community and we all need to watch out for each other. If you notice something off at your neighbor’s place, give them a call and make sure all is OK. You might also want to check on your elderly neighbors that they are staying well during this time of the year that tends to hold illnesses for many. Take time and get to know your neighbors.
