St. John Lutheran Christmas Dinner Sunday

St. John Lutheran of Rutersville will have its Christmas Dinner on Sunday, Dec. 11 following the 10 a.m. worship. A fried chicken meal will be served. Members are asked to provide deserts. WELCA of Rutersville has donated a quilt for the silent auction.

Hermann Sons Life

The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life will meet on Monday, Dec. 19 at the Ellinger Fire Station. The meeting will get underway at 6 p.m. For more information contact Diane Marusik.

Advent Worship Schedule

The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County has shared its Advent worship schedule. Soup suppers are back again. Meals will be served at 6 p.m. and worship begins at 7 p.m. The worship rotations are as follows: Dec. 7 - Rutersville; Dec. 14 - Fayetteville; Dec. 21 (longest night service) - Rutersville.

Christmas Eve Services

Christmas Eve Services for the Shared Lutheran Ministry have been announced. Worship with Pastor Jen will be in Warrenton at 5 p.m. and at St. John Ellinger at 7 p.m. Services led by Pastor Jill will be in Fayetteville at 6 p.m. and in Rutersville at 8 p.m.

Congregational Meetings

St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger will be holding its annual Congregational Meeting following the 8 a.m. worship on Sunday, Jan. 8. St. Paul Lutheran in Fayetteville will also have their annual meeting on that date. St. John in Rutersville will have their annual meeting on Sunday, Jan. 15, following the 10 a.m. worship.

St. John Council Meets

The Council of St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger met recently. The minutes and financial reports from October (no meeting was held in Nov.) were approved. The team met with the treasurer to prepare the 2023 budget. Council discussed and approved the purchase of batteries and pads for the AED and an additional chair cart.

The annual meeting will be held Jan. 8 the following positions will need to be filled: one mutual ministry team member, one Ellinger Council member, one SLM representative, and two audit committee members.

Joint Worship Scheduled

The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County will be having a joint worship on Christmas day at 8:30 a.m. at St. John’s Warrenton and on Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. at St. John Rutersville.

Fayetteville Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m.

Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services.

The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger VFD

The Ellinger VFD was dispatched on Tuesday, Nov. 29 to set up a landing zone for an emergency air lift.

Ellinger Sewer and Water

The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Elliinger Fire Station.

Ellinger C of C

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Community Center.
