St. James Holy Smokers Cook For Area Families

Ashlyn Wetsel (left) and Gina Gralinski with the Family Crisis Center load two of 58 turkeys and 44 chickens cooked Friday by the Holy Smokers of St. James Episcopal Church in La Grange. The Center is distributing the smoked birds to families in Fayette, Lee, Colorado and Bastrop counties. The St. James Episcopal Church Women baked an astounding 232 dozen (2,784) cookies for desserts. The turkeys smoked from before dawn until they were picked up after sunset.
