The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host a chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale Sunday, Jan. 29
beginning at 10:30 a.m. This event is drive-thru only. The new drive-thru route will be under the BBQ pavilion. Watch for signs. Cost is $10 per quart or $35 per gallon. Bring a pot or glass container. Homemade chicken salad sandwhiches and delicious desserts will be available. Drive-thru line Polka music entertainment provided by Zach Novak. Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. The meal will be chili and members are asked to bring a side or dessert for the meal.
Pancake Supper
The Rotary of La Grange will hold its annual pancake supper on Thursday, Feb. 2 at the La Grange Elementary School cafeteria. Tickets are $8 each. Dine in at the school from 5 to 7 p.m. Drive-thru from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The drive-thru entrance begins at the corner of Travis and Jackson St.

Fayette County Texas Exes is having a food drive for AMEN Food Pantry. Non perishable food items can be dropped off through Feb. 3 to: Jones Insurance, 357 N Jefferson St, La Grange, Round Top Brewing, 101 W Austin St, Round Top, Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce, 618 N Main St, Schulenburg, Flatonia Baptist Church, 225 E 6th St, Flatonia.

Western Art Show at LHS Cafeteria
It’s that time of year again. Join La Grange ISD for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Community Western Art Show on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the La Grange High School Cafeteria. The event will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be over 150 works on display from 1st-12th grade.
RT Area Historical Society Fundraiser
The Round Top Area Historical Society is collecting gently used items for their annual fundraising garage sale. If you have any items you wish to donate or can drop off to our campus in Round Top at 397 E. Mill St. behind the Round Top Post Office; please contact Jeannette Burger at (281) 610-8274 or jburger@cvctx.com. Household items, furniture, antiques, yard equipment welcomed: no outdated electronics or clothing please. You can drop off this Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m.and also Saturday Feb. 4 and Sunday Feb. 5. The Garage sale is scheduled for Feb. 11 and 12 also Feb. 18 and 19.
Feed The Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
Fair Association Scholarship
Youth and education are the primary objectives of the Fayette County Fair Association. In 2023, the Fair Association will again award 20 scholarships to seniors from five Fayette County High Schools which include Fayetteville, Flatonia, La Grange, Round Top-Carmine, and Schulenburg as well as those home schooled. These scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 each. Criteria for the scholarships include excellent academic profile, leadership skills, special events, community involvement, work experience and/or participation or involvement in the Fayette County Fair. These scholarships will be accepted at any accredited University/ College or Vocational school. Scholarship applications may be obtained by contacting counselors at the schools or the fair web site www.fayettecounty fair.org. The presentation of these scholarships allows the Fair Association to assist graduates in fulfilling their desire to continue their education.
