Smith-McMillan Chapter Donates Books to Library
Kim Joost and Jo Ann Vasina, representing the local Smith-McMillan Chapter, NSDAR, presented Allison MacKenzie, Director of the Fayette Public Library/Fayette Heritage Museum & Archives, with five new books to be added to different sections of the facility. This donation is part of an initiative across the state of Texas by the Daughters of the American Revolution Library Outreach Committee.
The five new titles, and, sections of the facility for which they were donated are: “Finding Your Ancestors for Free: Your Guide to the Best Online Genealogy Archives, Collections, and Websites” by Kenneth Marks for the Archives; the visually compelling and fact filled “The American Revolution: A Visual History” by DK & the Smithsonian for the Adult Reference and/or Nonfiction; “Women Heroes of the American Revolution: 20 Stories of Espionage, Sabotage, Defiance, and Rescue” by Susan Casey for Adult-Young Adult Nonfiction; “George vs. George: The Revolutionary War as Seen by Both Sides” by Rosalyn Schanzer for grades 3-7 Nonfiction; “If You Were a Kid During the American Revolution” by Wil Mara for grades 2-6 Historical Fiction.
