SLM to Hold Joint Worship, Patriotic Festival
Shared Lutheran Ministry will have a joint worship, Patriotic Festival, on Sunday, July 2 at 10 a.m. in Rutersville.
After worship, a cook from each congregation will go head to head with other SLM chefs to see who can make the best burger. Come taste test – $1 equals one vote with all proceeds going to Feed the Need.
Ellinger congregation is asked to bring desserts for this event. Feed the Need is an organization that meets every Monday at 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the square in La Grange. They provide hunger relief with eight other locations in Texas. They serve free burgers to anyone who stops by. Volunteers will greet you and pray for you or others on your heart. Anyone is welcome.
Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.
SLM Vacation Bible School Shared Lutheran Ministry’s VBS will be held in Rutersville the week of July 24 from 8:30-noon. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 am. Registration forms are due by July 9 and you may contact Laura Brugger at (979) 9663455 for more information. Campers welcome from kindergarten to 5th grade based on the 2023-24 school year. Volunteers needed as well.
Amari Rhodes, age 9, is the son of Marcus and Kimberly Rhodes of Ellinger. He attends La Grange Elementary School and will be entering the 4th grade this upcoming year. He enjoys playing baseball for La Grange Little League as well as the Shiner Stars based out of Shiner. He recently attended the 2023 9U PGBASummer Slam in Humble where the Shiner Stars went undefeated in pool play. The Stars went on to claim the championship title.
Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Face book page.

A city-wide garage sale will be held on July 1 starting at 8 a.m. Maps will be available at the chamber hall, 104 W. Colorado Street. Call or text Miranda at (979) 966-8612 to reserve a free spot/table under the pavilion or to have your home address advertised.
