Sheriff Seeks Information After Pair of Lottery Thefts

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek wants the public and especially businesses to be aware of current incidents occurring in Fayette County.

Twice this week on separate evenings, an unknown male suspect has entered two separate convenience stores within Fayette County asking for a large monetary amount of Texas Lottery tickets, ranging from $450-$800 worth of tickets.

As soon as the clerk places the tickets on the counter, the suspect throws down counterfeit $100 bills, grabs the tickets, and runs out of the convenience store. The suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, 20-30 years of age, driving a bright red car, possibly a 20162021 Honda Civic.

The Texas Lottery Commission is assisting in this case. Anyone with any information may contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856 or Fayette County Crimestoppers at 979968-8477.
