Sheriff’s Report
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of November.
Deputy Terry Guentert was dispatched to an address in the Flatonia area in reference to a disturbance. The disturbance was between father and daughter. The daughter expressed suicidal intentions to Guentert. The female was evaluated by MHMR and was transported to a behavioral hospital to receive proper treatment. Guentert also took a report involving a stolen license plate. The license plate was entered into the database as stolen.
Deputy Cody Williams took a report of a theft which occurred in the Schulenburg area. Williams gathered information for the report and filed charges with the County Attorney’s Office.
Deputy Herman Olvera took a report of a burglary that occurred in the Muldoon area. Information was gathered and the case remains under investigation at this time.
Deputy James Ulbig conducted a traffic stop in the Kirtley area. One occupant was arrested for possession marijuana. Ulbig was dispatched to the area of Interstate 10 Eastbound near mile marker 658 in reference to an open line 911 call. Ulbig located an 18 wheeler parked near the rest area which is closed. Inside of the 18 wheeler Ulbig located a man gasping for air in need of medical attention. Fayette County EMS was called to the scene and tended to the man. The man was transported to a nearby hospital by EMS.
Deputy Duane Meagher assisted in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit came to an end in Caldwell County and one subject was arrested.
Deputy Jason Fowler along with Deputy Meagher conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in which one subject was arrested for reckless driving, resisting arrest and tampering with evidence. Fowler and Meagher also were dispatched to a call in the Plum area. One subject was arrested for Public Intoxication.
Deputy Joe Gonzales took a report of four estray cattle in the Ledbetter area. Gonzales was unable to locate an owner. The estray process was completed and the cattle were taken to auction. Gonzales responded to an address near La Grange in which a female was found deceased.The death was ruled that of natural causes.
Deputy Jared Michalec took a report of harassment in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. After further investigation, Michalec obtained a warrant on a male subject for stalking. The male was located and arrested. Michalec took a report of a missing person. The person was found to not be missing and was located at work. The male was then arrested on numerous outstanding warrants.
Deputy Wesly Arrison observed a pickup truck on the shoulder of State Hwy. 71 near La Grange. A check of the vehicle’s license plate showed the vehicle to be stolen out of Montgomery County. The vehicle was recovered byArrison and removed from the database as stolen. Arrison stopped a vehicle which was displaying a fictitious license plate. The vehicle was impounded by Arrison.
Deputy Seth Nagel conducted a traffic stop in the Round Top area. The driver was found to have an active warrant out of Harris County for DWI. The driver was arrested.
Deputy Mark Pritchard took a report of an aggravated assault which occurred in Ellinger. The case is under investigation at this time. Pritchard assisted La Grange Police Department with an aggravated robbery which occurred at a business within La Grange city limits.
Jail Administrator Holly Smith reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 47 individuals for the month of November. Smith reports that the jail staff transported three individuals to Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities throughout the State to begin serving their sentences for crimes committed in Fayette County.
