Your community animal shelter continues to take in 1,400 to 1,500 dogs and cats each year. A microchip is the only permanent form of identification for your pet. Unlike collars and tags that get lost, microchips last for the lifetime of your pet. Any facility that scans your pet for a microchip can access your contact information and reunite you with your pet. Your contact information remains confidential.

May is “Microchip Your Pet” month. We are fortunate enough to have had a generous donor supply the microchips. Abig shout out and thank you to the Lone Star Animal Welfare League for understanding the necessity of pet identification and donating the microchips to make this promotion possible.

We invite you to come to our shelter with your pet any day in May to get a microchip at a 50 percent discount. Microchips are $20 this month.

However, there’s a spinner. If your pet is already spayed or neutered, we will microchip your pet at no cost.

If your pet is not spayed/ neutered, please take advantage of this discounted price and let us provide you with valuable information on low cost spay and neuter programs.
