Seven Arrested for Theft at Pilot
Schulenburg Police arrested seven suspects following a theft from a local convenience store.
On Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers with the Schulenburg Police Department received notice that a theft just occurred at the Pilot Travel Center. The caller advised the suspects left Pilot in an older model white van.
Officers quickly located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted on Interstate 10 west bound near the 674 mile marker. There were eight suspects in the vehicle.
After reviewing security footage, officers determined that all suspects stole items from Pilot. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which revealed several items that were stolen from Pilot, along with marijuana.
One suspect was released to Fayette County EMS and transported to the hospital for previous injuries. Charges on that suspect are pending.
After the investigation, the remaining seven suspects were arrested on charges consisting of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Fugitive Intent to Give False Information and a Warrant for Failure to Appear out of Webb County.
