Seniors Travel to Bastrop Movie Theater

A total of 16 members from Senior Connections, ventured to Bastrop in August to the Alley Town Movie Theater, with the reclining seats, an awesome movie to watch, some great service, and lots of A/C comfort. With all our creature comfort needs met, we settled in with our blankets and really enjoyed the movie selection of “The Hill,” which is a true story that happened right here in Texas. We all highly recommend it and we did admit that tears were shed, but resilience was the lesson stressed throughout the show.

Between now and our next Schuber Van Service trip, we will go back to Flatonia for a tour of the Train Museum there, and we will go to our favorite place, the Lyric Theater, to watch “The Cheyenne Social Club” with Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda later this month, too. If that is not a reason enough to get excited and get out of the house, then come on down on a Wednesday to join us for lunch and some Bingo. We just want to have fun and be in good company.

They feed us good at Senior Connections, too. Most entrees are catered by Koopman Catering and Oakridge Smokehouse. All they ask is that everyone contribute to the free will offering box to help offset the cost of the meal service and supplies. Plus, Senior Connections always pays for the Schuber Van Service when we go on these outings, so all the contributions are very much appreciated. Another plus for us to celebrate is the fact that our members voluntarily provide all the desserts we enjoy at the Center.
