Seniors Citizens Meals on Wheels Meets Wednesdays
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action meet every Wednesday at Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the camaraderie. The hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and is for pick-up only until 11:30 a.m. There are five meals in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread. Cost is a donation of $10, which makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up.

RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmie varsity volleyball team defeated Weimar in 4 sets and Navasota in 3 sets on Aug. 15. JV also won.
The Varsity team was the Bronze Bracket Champion at the Schulenburg tournament on Aug. 24, 25, and 26. In this tournament, they defeated Gonzalez, but lost to Yoakum and East Bernard on Thursday. On Friday, they defeated Weimar and Navasota. On Saturday, they won against Gonzalez and Burton.

Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night will be the second Thursday in Sept. at 7 p.m.
A burn ban continues to be in effect for Fayette County.
The department reminds members that their dues may be paid by mailing a check to P.O. Box 217, Carmine, TX 78932.
Condolences
Sympathy is extended to the family of Otto L. Fuchs, Jr., who passed away on Aug. 10. He was a WWII veteran and very active in the Vocational Agricultural Education program at Round Top-Carmine High School. He was also active at Martin Luther Lutheran Church and with the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department. His funeral service was held on Aug. 25 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton.
Heritage Committee
The Heritage Committee of the Carmine Chamber of Commerce will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. in the museum.
The topic for discussion will be “Egg Production and Sales in the Carmine Area.” Resource persons will be available to give information and to answer questions.
All are welcome to come share and learn.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Labor Day Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost is at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Remember to wear your work clothes. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Following the service, a luncheon will be served consisting of pulled pork sandwiches with pickles, onions, sauce and individual bags of chips. Those attending may bring a side dish or dessert.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot now is open only on the second Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Accepted are clean No. 1 and No. 2 plastic (please separate them and take note that no. 5 plastics are not accepted), dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
