Senior Connections Hears From New Area Dentist
On Tuesday, Oct. 31, Senior Connections will be headed to the Brookwood Community in Brookshire. We have had good response, this trip is now full. If there is enough interest, we may plan another trip in early December.
Senior Connections will be closed the first week in November as renovations continue and staff and board members will also be attending a nonprofit management workshop in La Grange all day Friday, Nov. 3.
We are announcing our Lake Charles or Bust! charter bus overnight outing on Nov. 9-10, open to the public.
The $200 fee for transportation there and back, will also include lunch on the bus each day. This is what is payable to Senior Connections to secure your seat on the bus.
Once you’ve done this part, then you would secure your room at the Golden Nugget with your credit card. Amanda has secured a block of rooms for our group, so let us know when you are ready and we will pass it on to you. Amanda has offered to help you book your room, if you come into Senior Connections so she can use our computers to get you all set up. Most of the meals and amenities can be charged to your room, so no need to be carrying around any cash. You can then use your card for the activities you want to be engaged in, plus your dinner and breakfast while at the hotel.
On Monday, Dr. Hiren Korat, DMD who has recently opened a new office here in Schulenburg was the Lunch & Learn speaker and he came to tell us about what services he can provide and what our dental needs are for an advanced age. Dr. Korat brought in three of his staff members who have different roles and responsibilities in his office.
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Baking Group for October consisted of Kathy Carpenter, Group Leader, Irene Janda, Carolyn Moore, and Darlene Williams showed up to make people smile. They got together and, as a group, they decided to take their Baked Good Box’s into Flatonia to thank some of their First Responders.
Wednesday, Oct. 18, was a special lunch, plus Birthdays of the Month.
