Senior Connections to Hear from Behlen, Outing Planned to Bastrop Opera House

Coming for a visit Monday May 20, Andy Behlen with the Fayette County Record will join us for garden talk. And it just so happens to be World Bee Day. So get your questions ready for him and join us for a delicious meal of beef tips, rice, healthy mixed vegetables and garden salad. And after his presentation, stay for some exercise on Move it Monday. Julian Godsey will be leading us with some cardio line dancing routines after some chair exercises to get us warmed up.

The next outing will be to the Bastrop Opera House to see a comedy Moon Over Buffalo in June. The sign up sheet is ready to fill in. Please note that the center will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.

Consider donating gift cards to local grocery stores, bakery’s, restaurants, or meat markets if you feel called. As your garden begins to overwhelm you with produce, please keep Senior Connections in mind for your overflow. Home baked deserts are always welcomed at the center.

Transportation is a big barrier for many to join the center. And with that knowledge our vision is to expand our programming in the near future into neighboring communities. Aiming sites at Weimar first and Flatonia after that, we hope to reach more people with our meal-based programming twice per month at each location.
