Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents during the week of March 3-9.

Animal Complaint

On March 6, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 600 block of North in reference for loose sheep. Officer was able to get sheep back into the pasture.

On March 7, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 700 block of Baumgarten in regard to a colony of cats.

On March 9, Officer James Whited found a white husky dog roaming the streets with only a collar and no tags, dog was taken to the shelter.

Accident

On March 5, Officer Bryon Powe responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a minor accident. The suspected vehicle fled prior to officers’ arrival, but vehicle information was provided. The vehicle was located in Flatonia and all information was collected.

Disturbance

On March 4, Whited responded to the 3600 block of FM 1579 for a disturbance. Upon arrival all parties were separated.

Traffic Stop

On March 4, Powe stopped a driver for operating a vehicle with no license plate in the 600 block of W. I-10.

On March 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 300 block of Kessler for expired registration (9-23) Driver received warning for expired registration and no driver’s license and a citation for no insurance.

On March 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for an unregistered motor vehicle. The passenger the registered owner received citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance.

On March 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for improperly secured temporary tag. Driver received a warning.

On March 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 37 in a 25. Driver received a citation.

On March 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler for wrong license plate. Driver received citations for no driver’s license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and unauthorized production purchase use or sale of temporary tag.

On March 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-I0 for speeding going 96 in a 75. Driver received a citation.

On March 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 93 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

On March 7, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. Driver received a warning.

On March 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for expired registration (1-24) Driver received a warning for expired registration and citations for expired drivers license, no insurance, two counts of unrestrained child and two counts of safety belt child required to be secured.

On March 8, Officer MD Krenek stopped a driver in the 700 block of Kessler for no headlights when required. A warning for headlights was issued and citations for no driver’s license. Parents were called to pick up the vehicle and all other juvenile occupants.
