Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Feb. 11-16.
Animal Complaint
On Feb. 11, Officer James Whited responded to the 800 block of Simpson for a loose dog.
Disturbance
On Feb. 11, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 100 block of Cardinal Avenue for a disturbance.
On Feb. 13, Officer Hailee Vincent was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Street.
Fire
On Feb. 11, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 1000 block of James Avenue regarding a structure fire with smoke filling up the home and an elderly resident inside. Upon arrival the elderly resident was out of the house and there was no fire. One of the residents was preparing food and burned it.
Traffic Stop
On Feb. 11, Powe stopped a driver for no license plate in the 600 block of W. I-10. Driver received a warning for no license plate lights. Driver received a citation for no driver’s license and no insurance.
On Feb. 11, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 100 block of Kessler going 50 in a 35-mph zone.
On Feb. 12, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for defective head lamp. A citation was is-sued for failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving while license invalid suspended.
On Feb. 14, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speed violation. Driver issued a warning.
On Feb. 14, McFadden stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of Kessler. A warning was issued for speeding and no driver’s license.
On Feb. 14, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 40 in a 25. Citation was issued for speeding in a school zone.
On Feb. 14, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding, going 50 in a 25 school zone. Citation issued for speeding.
On Feb. 14, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for a defective brake light, driver received a warning for defective brake light and citation for no insurance.
