Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 28 through Feb. 3.
Animal Complaint
On Jan. 28, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Klesel to barking dogs. Upon arrival no dogs were barking. Call cleared.
On Jan. 28, Krenek was dispatched to the 300 block of Klesel for barking dog. The dog barked when I drove by and stopped. The dog was not barking excessively, and no further action taken.
On Jan. 29, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 300 block of S. Main for complaint about cats. Complainant advised numerous cats come on her property and tear up things and urinate on things. Officer located the owner of cats. They were told of the complaint and said they would be taking care of it.
On Jan. 29, Harden responded to the 900 block of Anderson about a small dog with a white sweater and collar running loose. Dog made it back home.
Assault
On Jan. 29, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 1400 block Kessler for an assault.
Burglary of Vehicle
On Jan. 31, Officer James Whited responded to the 1400 block of Herder regarding a vehicle that was burglarized.
Theft
On Feb. 1, Whited responded to the 300 block of College regarding theft of an iPhone.
Traffic Stop
On Jan. 30, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding.
On Jan. 31, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for defective headlight. On Jan. 31, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-I0 for defective brake light. Driver received a warning.
On Jan. 31, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for an obscured license plate. Driver received a warning for license plate and citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no insurance.
On Jan. 31, Powe stopped a driver in the 40 block of Kessler for no front license plate. Driver received a warning for the plate and expired driver’s license and a citation for no insurance.
On Feb. 1, Whited stopped a driver for speeding in the 1200 block of Summit going 61 in a 50-mph zone. Driver was cited.
On Feb. 1, Whited stopped a vehicle in the 40 block of Kessler for speeding going 40 in a 25 school zone.
On Feb. 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (4-22) Search was conducted due to marijuana in plain view and a fake ID was also located. Marijuana and fake ID were disposed of and drive issued a citation for having a fake ID.
On Feb. 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and no driver’s license.
On Feb. 3, Officer Hailee Vincent stopped a driver in the 10 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. Driver advised he had a wreck and did not have time to repair vehicle. A warning was issued.
On Feb. 3, Vincent stopped a driver in the 800 block of Lyons for disregarding stop sign. A citation was issued.
On Feb. 3, Vincent stopped a driver in the 200 block of East Avenue for a defective tail lamp.
Violation of City Ordinance On Jan. 30, Harden responded to the 900 block of Upton for a fire burning in the front yard about 8-10 inches from the curb. Officer advised individual that burning is not allowed in the city limits.
