Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 7-13.
Scammed
On Jan. 8, Office Byron Powe responded to the 800 block of Summit where complainant stated she was scammed out of a large amount of cash via a cash app.
Traffic Stop
On Jan. 8, Officer Jeffery Whited stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Kessler for following too closely and changing lanes without signaling and speeding.
On Jan. 8, Whited stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Upton for displaying an expired registration (3-23) Driver had the current registration in his hand and was given a warning.
On Jan. 8, Whited stopped a driver in the 400 block of Kessler for speeding.
On Jan. 8, Officer MD Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of N. Kessler for defective headlight. A small amount of marijuana was found under the driver’s seat and was destroyed. Driver issued a warning for defective headlight and citation for failure to provide proof of insurance.
On Jan. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for expired registration (823) Driver received a warning for expired registration and expired driver’s license.
On Jan. 9, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. Interstate 10 for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver received a warning.
On Jan. 9, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. Interstate 10 for improperly secured temporary tag. Driver received a warning for improperly secured tag and expired driver’s license and citation for driving while license invalid.
On Jan. 9, Whited stopped a driver in the 1200 block of Kessler for operating a vehicle on the roadway with a brake light not working. Driver was given a warning, On Jan. 9, Powe stopped a driver in the 600-block of E. Interstate 10 for defective stop light, driver received a warning and a citation for no driver’s license.
On Jan. 9, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. Interstate 10 for operating a vehicle with no front license plate. Driver received a warning.
On Jan. 9, Powe stopped a driver for a defective headlight in the 600 block of W. Interstate 10. Driver received warnings for no driver’s license and no insurance and a defective headlight.
On Jan. 9, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 700 Block of Kessler for a defective taillight. Driver issued a citation for driving while license was invalid and for no insurance and a warning for taillight.
On Jan. 9, Krenek stopped a driver at N. Kessler and College for disregarding traffic light. Driver issued a warning.
On Jan. 9 Powe stopped a driver inthe 600 block of W. Interstate 10 for failure to drive in a single lane and no license plate light. Driver received a citation for no insurance.
Welfare Check
On Jan. 9, Whited was dispatched to Highway 77 North toward Hallettsville regarding a disturbance that occurred at the Walmart in Hallettsville, and the vehicle was headed toward Schulenburg. Officer never saw the vehicle in question.
