Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Dec. 10- 16.
Accident
On Dec. 11, Officer James Whited responded to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a collision between two 18, wheelers on the frontage road.
Animal Complaint
On Dec. 11, Officer Gina Harden Animal Control and Code enforcement officer received a call in regard to a loose dog in the 500 block of Baumgarten. Dog was chipped and owner was located.
On Dec. 12, Officer MD Krenek responded to the 400 block of Anderson where complainant advised her dog was loose. Officer was able to locate the dog.
On Dec. 14, Harden responded to the 700 block of N. Main for a deer in the alleyway. The deer was critically injured laying in the ditch. The Game Warden was called. Traffic Hazard On Dec. 10, Officer Hailee Vincent was advised of a traffic hazard in the 1500 block of Kessler. Officer could not locate anything or objects in the roadway.
Civil Matter
On Dec. 15, Whited received a call from complainant advising the child exchange did not go as planned and she wanted it documented.
On Dec. 15, Whited arrived at the police department and was told by a male subject that the mother of his 4 year old son violated the custody agreement and refused to bring the boy to him.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Dec. 11, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 200 block of Kallus for a suspicious person. Officer made contact and it was an insurance inspector and officer was able to verify with the homeowner.
On Dec. 14, Officer Juan Castilleja was contacted about a suspicious female inside the Texan. Officer made contact with the female and gave her a courtesy ride to Flatonia and located her vehicle and called her family.
Traffic Stop
On Dec. 12, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 40 in a 25. Driver received a citation.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (6/23) Driver received a warning.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (9/23) driver received a warning.
On Dec. 14, Castilleja stopped a driver for disregarding a red light in the 400 block of Summit. Driver received a warning.
On Dec. 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 35 in a 25. Driver received warnings for expired registration (7/23) and failure to display a driver’s license and a citation for speeding in a school zone.
On Dec. 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for expired registration (12/22) Driver received a warning for expired registration and a citation for no insurance.
Miscellaneous
On Dec. 11, McFadden was dispatched to the 100 block of Simpson for a subject burning wood in a burn pit.
On Dec. 14, Castilleja was dispatched in the 100 block of E. Paulus for noise complaint. Officer contacted resident and they turned down the music.
On Dec. 14, Harden received information about a possible violation of city ordinance. Officer located an enclosed fire pit with a small fire going and observd a water hose available within three feet of the pit.
