Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 5-11.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 9, Code Enforcement Officer Gina Harden responded to the Schulenburg High School for a rat snake coiled between the main building and the brick fence. With the help of two school employees, the snake was freed from the crack and placed in a plastic bag and disposed of.
On Nov. 10, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 200 block of Upton for Husky’s that were running loose, officer contacted the owners, and they received a verbal warning. A citation will be issued next time.
Civil Matter
On Nov. 10, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 500 block of West Avenue in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officer informed dispatcher the vehicle was not stolen and was a civil matter.
On Nov. 10, Vincent responded to the 1000 block of S. Kessler for a civil matter.
Fight in Progress
On Nov. 5, Officer James Whited was dispatched to the Upstairs Bar for a fight in progress. Parties did not want to press charges.
Harassment
On Nov. 10, Vincent responded to the 300 block of Bucek where complainant advised vised her ex-boyfriend keeps contacting her at her job. She was advised to get a restraining order.
On Nov. 11, Vincent spoke with complainant in the 1400 block of Kellett concerning an ex-girlfriend and harassment. Officer advised both parties to block each other.
Runaway
On Nov. 10, Vincent received report of a runaway from the La Grange police Department. Officer contacted the resident in the 100 block of Hummingbird and the runaway was located at the residence in the upstairs bedroom. Parents advised they did not know she was there. Officer took the individual to the police department and waited on parent.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle On Nov. 8, Castilleja was dispatched to the 57 block of Kessler in reference to a suspicious person sleeping behind the store.
Terroristic Threat
On Nov. 7, Officer Byron Powe was dispatched to the 300 block of Bucek where student made a threat to another student.
Traffic Stop
On Nov. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 400 block of Summit for an expired registration (9-23) Driver received a warning.
On Nov. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (6-23) Driver received a warning.
On Nov. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 1300 block of Kessler for an expired registration (8-23) Driver received a warning for expired registration and a citation for no insurance.
Welfare Check
On Nov. 5, Whited was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Main for a welfare check Officer contacted the female and advised she was fine and was out walking.
Miscellaneous
On Nov. 8, Powe responded to the 200 block of Heinrich where the receptionist at the Holiday Inn reported a white female who was not currently a guest at the hotel entered the hotel, ate breakfast, used the restroom, and got on a computer in the lobby then left. Receptionist requested the woman be told to not return as she left before officer arrived. The subject was located a short distance away and advised she was not welcome back and would be charged with trespassing if she returned.
