Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 16-30.
Ambulance Call
On June 25, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 1300 block of South Street for an unresponsive two-month-old. Upon arriving on scene officer attempted to get baby breathing. Baby had good oxygen and was transported by ambulance with medics to Dell.
Animal Complaint
On June 17, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 200 block of Heinrich in regard to a baby kitten that was found in the hotel pool. The staff advised the kitten got stuck in the drain and possibly broke its leg. Officer took the kitten and properly disposed of it.
Alarm
On June 16, Sgt. Tobey McFadden was dispatched to the 1200 block of Kellett for a residential burglary alarm. It was a neighbor caring for the house and was not told the alarm code had been changed.
Assault
On June 18, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1100 block of Summit for an active physical disturbance. One subject was arrested for multiple charges.
Agency Assist
On June 26, McFadden responded to the 200 block of N. Main to assist Flatonia police Department who had a child locked in a car which was shut off. Officer provided an unlock kit and was able to unlock the car door.
Civil Matter
On June 16, Officer MD Krenek responded to the 600 block of Upton to meet with individual that advised he was denied success to his son violating the court order. Officer advised him to hire an attorney for violation of court order.
Criminal Mischief
On June 17, Powe responded to the 600 block of South Street where caller stated an intoxicated subject struck her mailbox and was attempting to fight others at the residence. Subject located and arrested for multiple charges.
Disturbance
On June 18, Powe responded to the 22 block of N. Kessler for two irate subjects. Subjects located and arrested.
Possession of Marijuana On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (2-23) and defective tail lamp. Driver arrested on multiple charges Suspicious Person/Vehicle On June 24, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 40 block of Kessler for a gray truck that ran over the curb and was acting funny.
On June 24, Vincent was dispatched to the 87 block of Kessler for a vehicle blocking the driveway at the bank. Vehicle hicle was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Theft
On June 24, Powe responded to the 1100 block of Bohlmann where caller had advised his belongings, he had left near the barbecue pits was taken when he left.
Traffic Stop
On June 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (12-21) Driver received a warning for expired registration and a citation for no insurance.
On June 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for failure to move over for emergency vehicle. Driver received a citation.
On June 17, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speed violation. Driver issued a warning.
On June 18, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speed violation. Driver received a warning.
On June 21, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for failure to signal lane change. Driver received a warning.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver received citation for speeding and no driver’s license.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for running a red light. Driver received a citation.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (4-23) Driver received warnings for expired registration and no front license plate.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no front license plate. Consent to search conducted and fake urine was located, and driver received a warning.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for turning left from the wrong lane. Driver received a citation for turning left from wrong lane and no driver’s license.
On June 23, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding 48 in a 45. Citation issued.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (2-23) Driver received a citation for driving while license invalid.
On June 23, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 700 block of Kessler for speeding. Citation was issued.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 25 block of N. Kessler for defective brake light. Driver received citation for no insurance.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration. Driver received citation for diving while license invalid and no insurance.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (4-21) Driver received citations for expired registration and driving while license invalid.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 85 in a 75. Driver received a warning for speeding and a citation for unrestrained child.
On June 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (4-20) driver received a citation.
On June 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 400 block of Paulus for failure to signal required distance before turning. Search conducted and paraphernalia located along with nicotine vape pens. Driver received citations for no insurance and minor in possession of nicotine.
On June 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Consent to search was denied and no canine was available. Driver received citations for speeding and violating driver’s license restriction.
On June 25, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 900 block of N. Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning.
On June 28, Vincent stopped a driver in the 700 block of Lyons for disregarding a stop sign. Citation issued for unrestrained child, toddler was in car seat but not buckled. Warrant Arrest
On June 17, Powe stopped a driver for operating an unregistered vehicle in the 100 bock of N. Kessler. Driver was arrested.
Miscellaneous
On June 23, Castilleja observed a white elderly male sitting under the I-10 under pass and made contact. The individual was identified, and officer gave him a courtesy ride to American Best Value and issued a voucher for a hotel room.
On June 23, Vincent was dispatched to the 1500 block of Kellett for loud music. Officer advised the party to keep it down.
On June 29, Vincent responded to the 200 block of Summit where caller advised she needed help putting the ramp up on the U-Haul.
