Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 18-24.
Animal Complaint
On June 18, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 1300 block of Pierce in regard to loose livestock.
On June 19, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 900 block of Anderson for a loose dog. Officer checked the area and was then advised the dog had returned to the owner.
On June 20, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of Schulz for a dog running down the road. Officer talked to the dog owner and he agreed to surrender the dog to the shelter when a spot is available.
Civil Matter
On June 22, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 65 block of Kessler for custody exchange, child was exchanged from father to mother.
Assault
On June 18, Powe was dispatched to the 1100 block of Summit for a physical disturbance. One subject arrested for multiple charges.
Disturbance
On June 18, Powe responded to the 600 block of E. I-10 where caller advised her boyfriend was intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the vehicle with her and other family members. Officer was able to settle tempers after speaking to the couple.
On June 18, Powe responded the 22 block of N. Kessler for a report of two irate subjects. Subjects were located and arrested.
Reckless Damage
On June 19, Powe responded to the 100 block of Russek for an 18-wheeler that struck his Wi-Fi line and tore it down. Driver was issued several citations.
Reckless Driver
On June 18, Powe received a call advising that a black Infiniti was driving at speeds in excess of 100 mph and passing on the shoulder in the 600 block of E. I-10. Caller provided a license plate and the vehicle was located. Vehicle was stopped and driver was issued tickets for speeding going 115 in a 75 and wrong license plate.
Traffic Stop
On June 18, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for a speed violation Driver issued a warning.

On June 20, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 10 block of Kessler for using a portable communication device while operating a motor vehicle. Driver was issued a warning.
On June 21, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for failure to signal lane change. Driver received a warning.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver received citations for speeding and no driver’s license.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (4-23). Driver received warnings for expired registration and no front license plate.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 500 block of Kessler for turning from the wrong lane. Driver received citations.
On June 22, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver received a warning.
On June 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (2-23) Driver received citation for driving while license invalid.
