Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 14-20.
Animal Complaint
On May 14, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 50 block of N. Kessler for a dog in a vehicle. The owner of the dog was located and he came outside and attended to his dog.
On May 17, Code Enforcement Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 800 block of Wolf about a possible dangerous dog that was loose. Officer could not locate the animal.
Civil Matter
On May 19, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1100 block of Baumgarten to escort complainant to pick up his son for the weekend per the custody agreement. Grandmother would not release the child into the father’s care and became disrespectful. Father was advised to leave the residence before the situation escalated. Traffic Stop
On May 15, Officer MD Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning.
On May 15, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. The driver was checked at 56 mph in a 30 mile per hour zone.
On May 15, Krenek stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Driver issued a citation.

On May 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a warning.
On May 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver issued a citation for no driver’s license.
On May 15, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 89 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding and no drivers license.
On May 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 1300 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. Driver received a citation for driving while license invalid.
On May 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 83 in a 75. Driver received a warning.
On May 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for defective headlamp. Driver received a citation for expired registration and driving while license invalid.
On May 17, Officer Juan Castilleja stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone.
On May 19, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone Driver issued a citation.
On May 19, Powe stopped a driver in the 300 block of Kessler for a defective headlight. Driver received a citation for no insurance.
On May 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 200 block of Upton for expired registration (3-2020). Driver received a citation.
On May 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received a citation.
On May 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for an unregistered motor vehicle. Driver was arrested.
On May 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for unauthorized use of a temporary tag. Driver and passenger both arrested.
On May 20, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a driver in the 2000 block of Summit for disregarding a stop sign. Driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Citation issued for no driver’s license and a warning for disregarding stop sign.
