Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of March 19-25.
Animal Complaint
On March 19, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 2200 block of Summit for a loose calf on Hwy 90 west of town. Calf was located and owner found, and it was off the roadway.
On March 23, Castilleja responded to the 300 block of August for dogs that were barking. Officer could not locate the barking dogs.
On March 24, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 1400 block of Herder Avenue where caller advised she had two pit-bull puppies and was receiving threats from the alleged owner. The puppies were taken to the pound.
Accident
On March 22, Officer MD Krenek was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for a minor collision in the Pilot parking lot. Blue forms issued.
Possession
On March 24, Powe stopped a driver for improperly displaying a 30-day permit in the 200 block of W. Summit, driver was arrested for possession.
Traffic Stop
On March 20, Powe stopped a driver for displaying the wrong license plate in the 600 block of E. I-10. Driver received a citation for no insurance and a warning for wrong license plate.
On March 20, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone in the 100 block of N. Kessler. Driver was going 41 in a 25. Driver received a citation.
On March 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N Kessler for expired registration (2-22) Driver received a citation.
On March 20, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (7-21) Driver was arrested for possession.
On March 21, Powe stopped a driver in the 14 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (3-22) Driver received a citation.
On March 21, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for no front license plate. Driver received a warning for no front license plate and a citation for no divers license.
On March 21, Krenek stopped a driver for speeding in the 800 block of S. Kessler. Driver issued a warning.
On March 23, Officer Hailee Vincent stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone going 43 in a 25 in the 100 block of Kessler. Citation issued.
On March 23, Vincent stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. A citation was issued for no drivers’ license.
On March 23, Castilleja was assisted by Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp with a disturbance in the 1100 block of James Avenue. Officer observed a black Dodge Charger that failed to yield at the intersection of James and South Street, while speeding. Officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle and a warning for failure to yield at an intersection was issued and a citation for no drivers license. Driver was also informed that this vehicle could be towed.
On March 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 47 in a 25. A citation was issued.
On March 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of N. Kessler for speeding in a school zone. Going 35 in a 25. Driver received citations for speeding and no drivers’ license and no insurance.
On March 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for unauthorized use of a temporary tag. Driver received citations for unauthorized reproduction purchase use or sale of temporary tag and no drivers license.
On March 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no front license plate. Driver received a warning for no front license plate and no registration and a citation for expired registration.
On March 25, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 25 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (12-22) a probable cause search was conducted due to drug paraphernalia in plain view. Driver advised a pistol was in the console. The pistol was checked for stolen and driver checked for previous felony and no convictions. Driver issued a warning.
On March 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no front license plate, driver received a warning for no front license plate and obscured license plate. A citation for expired registration (10-22) On March 25, Krenek stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for a defective headlamp. Driver issued a warning.
On March 25, Powe stopped a driver for running a red light in the 14 block of N. Kessler. Driver received a warning for no front license plate and a citation for running a red light.
On March 25-Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (5-22) Driver received a citation.
On March 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for failure signal lane change. Driver received a warning.
On March 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Summit for failure to display registration. Driver received a warning for no registration and a citation for no front plate after three previous warnings from various officers.
On March 25, Krenek stopped a vehicle at James and Summit for disregarding a stop sign. The driver was issued a warning.
