Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 4.

Agency Assist

On Jan. 31, Sgt. Rusty Roggenkamp assisted Fayette county Sheriffs Officer with a dead battery in the 200 block of Heinrich.

On Feb. 1, Officer MD Krenek provided a male subject a ride to Loves in Weimar.

Animal Complaint

On Feb. 2, Animal Control Officer Gina Harden responded to the 1100 block of JA Green for a loose horse. The horse was tied up until the owner could arrive. Owner was advised that the fence needed to be fixed.

On Feb. 3, Harden received a text from City Hall to deliver an animal trap to the 500 block of Herder for a feral cat problem.

Accident

On Feb. 2, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 25 block of N. Kessler for a two vehicle crash involving two 18 wheelers. The at fault driver advised he ran a red light while checking his GPS. Both vehicles were towed.

Criminal Trespass

On Jan. 31, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 200 block of College where the manager wanted a criminal trespass warning issued for an individual. The individual the day before stole a link of sausage.

On Feb. 1, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 200 block of Upton in reference to a female who crawled through window and was refusing to leave.

On Feb. 2, Krenek responded to the 200 block of College for a criminal trespass. Disturbance

On Jan. 29, Powe responded to the 200 block of W. I-10 frontage road where complainant advised she had been locked out of her room by the male subject. She advised the male subject displayed a pocketknife during the altercation but no physical altercation had occurred. The male subject had left the location prior to arrival.

Suspicious Vehicle/Subject On Jan. 30, Officer Chris Kalina located a vehicle in the 700 block of N. US Hwy. 77 parked behind a building. Driver advised she pulled over due to weather. She advised she was heading home. Driver moved to the Pilot to rest until weather subsided.

On Jan. 31, Vincent responded to the 500 block of Paulus where caller advised a suspicious person was walking with two pit bulls and had asked her to use her phone. Officer spoke with individual that advised he was waiting for his brother to pick him up.

Traffic Stop

On Jan. 29, Krenek stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding.

On Jan. 29, Sgt. Tobey McFadden stopped a driver at James and Summit for disregarding a stop sign.
