Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On Jan. 1-7.

Animal Cruelty

On Jan. 3, Code enforcement officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of E. Anderson to talk with individual in regard to surrendering the six dogs I had seized from him. No one was home.

On Jan. 3, Harden attempted to contact individual in the 100 block of E. Anderson in regard to surrendering his dogs in a cruelty case. No answer at door.

On Jan. 4, Harden spoke with individual in regard to surrendering his dogs in an animal cruelty case. The individual agreed to surrender his rights to all six dogs.

Animal Complaint

On Jan. 7, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 300 block of August for barking dogs the night before but were not barking now. She was advised to call when the dogs are barking.

On Jan. 7, Kalina responded to the 100 block of E Paulus in reference to a black dog barking at people. The officer spoke with the resident who was disabled and they advised his family is usually around to let the dog out but were not there now. Owner advised he let the dog out but was not able to let him back in. I advised the dog needed to be leashed and maybe a leash he could tie to the porch so he can go in and out on his own.

Assist other Agency

On Jan. 4, Sgt. Tobey Mc-Fadden responded to the 600 block of E. I-10 with Trooper Usher to a possible man with a shotgun to his head.

Accident

On Jan. 4, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 400 block of N. Main for a minor accident.

Civil Matter

On Jan. 6, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 400 block of S. Main for a civil matter. Disturbance

Jn. 4, Powe responded to the 700 block of Herder for a verbal argument between roommates.

Harassment

On Jan. 3, Kalina responded to the 40 block of N. Kessler for a harassment issue.

Prowler

On Jan. 1, Officer M.D. Krenek was dispatched to the 100 block of Cardinal in regard to some one knocking on the caller’s door.

Possession

On Jan. 2, Powe stopped a vehicle in the 25 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (11-22) A search was conducted and driver arrested.

Suspicious Person

On Jan. 3, Officer Juan Castilleja was informed of a suspicious person at pilot. Officer upon arrival was unable to locate the individual.

Traffic Hazard

On Jan. 3, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 600 bock of E. I-10 exit ramp for a stalled 18-wheeler.

Traffic Stops

On Jan. 1, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for passing certain vehicles (failure to move over) driver received a citation.

On Jan. 1, Krenek stopped a vehicle for disregarding a stop sign at James and Summit.

On Jan. 1, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding.

On Jan. 2, Krenek stopped a vehicle at Kessler and Vincent for regarding red light. Driver issued a citation.

On Jan. 3, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 700 block of Herder for disregarding a stop sign. A warning was issued.

On Jan. 4, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding. A warning was issued.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for expired registration (42019) Driver issued a warning.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 block of N. Kessler for expired registration (10-21) Driver received a citation for driving while license invalid.

On Jan. 4, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 800 block of N. Kessler for speeding going 52 in a 45. Driver received a citation for expired registration and no insurance.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone, going 38 in a 25.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in a school zone going 35 in a 25. Driver received a warning.

On Jan. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for expired registration (11-22) Driver received citations for expired registration and no insurance.

On Jan. 5, Powe stopped a driver for speeding going 48 in a 35 in the 100 block of Kessler.

On Jan. 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 700 lock of N. Kessler for speeding going 59 in a 45. Driver received a citation.

On Jan. 5, Powe stopped a driver in the 1100 block of N. US Hwy 77 for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver received citations for no insurance and driving while license invalid.

On Jan. 7, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. Driver issued a citation for expired drivers license.
