Schulenburg Police Report
Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On Dec. 11, 17.
Animal Complaint
On Dec. 11, Castilleja was dispatched to the 300 block of Anderson for an animal complaint. Officer helped the complainant get a cat off the roof. Officer sprayed the cat with a water hose and the cat came down.
On Dec. 17, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 400 block of Wolf Street for barking dogs. Officer upon arrival heard dogs barking constantly. Officer made contact with the owner who was out of town but advised he would have a family member put them in the house.
Accident
On Dec. 14, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 89 block of Kessler for a minor traffic accident.
On Dec. 15, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 80 block of Kessler in regard to a minor accident where one individual had left the scene.
On Dec. 16, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 300 block of Bucek for a minor accident in the Prosperity Bank parking lot.
Agency Assist
On Dec. 11, Kalina assisted deputy with traffic stop and a DWI arrest at Highway 77 and Adamek.
On Dec. 16, Sgt. Tobey Mc-Fadden assisted EMS at Pilot with possible stroke victim.
On Dec. 17, Powe assisted with a disturbance in the 600 block of FM 2672 Parties were separated.
Civil Matter
On Dec. 16, Officer Krenek responded to the 600 block of Upton for a civil standby for a child exchange.
DWI
On Dec. 14, Powe was dispatched to the 600 block of E I-10 for a hit and run. Driver that attempted to flee was arrested for DWI and violation of bond/ protective order with two plus convictions. Passenger of vehicle (owner) issued citation for no insurance.
Disturbance
On Dec. 16, Parkinson responded to the 1000 block of James Avenue for a disturbance.
Suspicious Subject/Vehicle On Dec. 15, Castilleja observed a suspicious vehicle at the Sports Complex after hours. The individual was identified and informed the complex was closed.
Traffic Stop
On Dec. 12, McFadden stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Lyons for speeding in a school zone, going 35 in a 25. Driver issued a citation.
Dec 12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone.
On Dec. 12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 38 in a 25.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for unsecured temporary tag. Driver received citations for no drivers license and no insurance.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for no license plate lights.
On Dec. 12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone gong 39 in a 25. Driver issued a warning for no drivers license.
Dec .12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding in a school zone going 36 in a 25.
On Dec. 12, Parkinson stopped a driver at Lyons an N Main for running a stop sign.
On Dec. 12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for driving 37 in a 25 mph zone.
On Dec. 12, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 38 in a 25 school zone.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for an obscured license plate. Driver received citations for obscured license plate and no driver’s license or insurance and unauthorized reproduction or use of sale of temporary tags.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 800 block of Kessler for speeding going 56 in 45. Driver received a citation.
On Dec. 12, Powe stopped a driver in the 200 block of Upton for expired registration (6-22) driver received citations for no driver’s license and no insurance.
On Dec. 13, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for failure to drive in a single lane. Driver received citations for no drivers’ license and no insurance. On Dec. 13, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 41 in a 25 mph school zone.
On Dec. 13, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 36 in a 25 mph school zone.
On Dec. 13, Parkinson stopped a driver for running a stop sign at Lyons and N Main.
On Dec. 13, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 1000 block of Kessler for going 36 in a 25 mph school zone and no driver’s license.
On Dec. 13, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for obscured license plate and a citation for expired drivers license.
On Dec. 13, McFadden stopped a driver at West and North for failure to signal required distance. Upon contacting driver officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and a search was conducted and found paraphernalia, which was destroyed.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 44 in a 25 mph school zone. The child did not have a safety belt.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for an expired registration and they had no insurance.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver at Summit and US 77 for expired registration.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 36 in a 25 school zone and a warning for not displaying current registration.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 40 in a 25 mph school zone.
On Dec. 16, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for going 40 in a 25 mph school zone.
On Dec. 16, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for obscured license plate. Driver received a citation for no driver’s license.
On Dec. 17, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 600 block of E I-10 and driver received citations for unrestrained children.
