Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 20-26.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 21, Officer Gina Harden responded to the 100 block of St. John after receiving a call from a concerned citizen about a dog they thought was wrapped around a tree sitting in the rain. Officer arrived and found the dog was not tangled at all and had access to shelter from the weather.
Accident
On Nov. 22, Officer Juan Castilleja was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler in reference to an accident. Information was exchanged.
On Nov. 23, Sgt. Toby Mc-Fadden was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Kessler for an accident.
On Nov. 23, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the intersection of Summit and Hwy. 77 for an accident.
Civil Matter
On Nov. 20, Officer M.D. Krenek was dispatched to the 600 block of Upton in regard to a civil child custody exchange matter.
On Nov. 26, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird for a civil matter.
Disturbance
On Nov. 21, Officer Chris Kalina investigated an assault in the 77 block of Kessler.
On Nov. 23, Vincent was dispatched to the 200 block of St. John for a disturbance.
On Nov. 23, McFadden was dispatched to the 1100 block of James for a disturbance, upon arrival discovered an individual was intoxicated or high walking like a zombie down the street and beat on complainants door.
Fire
On Nov. 26, Kalina responded to the 200 block of Schultz for a small fire. Officer observed the fire was a pile of saw dust and trash.
Traffic Stop
On Nov. 20, Krenek stopped a driver at James and Summit for running a stop sign.
On Nov. 20, Parkinson stopped a driver in the 800 block of S. Kessler for going 51 in a 30-mph zone.
On Nov. 22, Vincent stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for defective tail lamp. A warning was issued for taillight and a citation for expired registration and no insurance.
On Nov. 23, McFadden stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for speeding.
On Nov. 23, Officer Byron Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 91 in a 75. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for a defective headlight. Driver received a warning.
On Nov. 23, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a warning.
On Nov. 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received a citation.
On Nov. 24, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 93 in a 75. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 25, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 94 in a 75. Driver received a citation for speeding and no insurance.
On Nov. 25, Krenek stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of S. Kessler for speeding. Driver issued a warning.
On Nov. 26, Castilleja stopped a driver in the 700 block of Kessler for speeding.
Theft
On Nov. 20, Parkinson responded to the 400 block of Anderson for a theft Complainant advised one of her customers took a book that was not included in his purchase.
On Nov. 26, Kalina responded to the 25 block of N. Kessler for a theft.
