Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Dec. 4-10.

Accident

On Dec. 5, Officer Byron Powe responded to the 600 block of E. I-10 for a minor accident. One subject was issued a citation for following too closely.

On Dec. 7, Powe, Officer M.D. Krenek, and Sgt. Tobey McFadden responded to the 1000 block of Kallus where vehicle struck an electrical pole and the driver fled in a secondary vehicle. Driver was later located and arrested.

Civil Matter

On Dec. 4, Officer Frank Parkinson responded to the 1000 block of Summit for a civil stand by.

On Dec. 4, Krenek responded to the 100 block of Hummingbird in regard to a Dodge Ram Pickup being stolen by an ex boyfriend, Both parties are on the registration and officer advised to contact the JP court.

On Dec. 6, Officer Chris Kalina responded to the 600 block of Upton in regard to a civil matter.

Public Intoxication

On Dec. 9, Officer Hailee Vincent responded to the 500 block of N. Main for a drunken guy arguing with his friends outside of the stairs.

Suspicious Person

On Dec. 6, Vincent responded to the 100 block of Cardinal Avenue for a suspicious person. Officer located subject and identified subject and informed individual if he did not have any business in the area he needed to leave.

On Dec. 7, Officer Juan Castilleja responded to the 400 block of Paulus for an unknown male subject that entered the residence and woke up one of the residents’ children. Homeowner was able to provide video of the subject and officer took the information.

On Dec. 9, Vincent responded to the 200 block of East Avenue and found a woman sitting in the road. Subject did not want to talk to the officers and she eventually calmed down. He advised that she had to leave her home due to not being able to pay her rent. We got her a room voucher for the night.

Traffic Stop

On Dec. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Bohlmann for a defective brake light. Search conducted narcotics and a firearm were located. Driver was arrested.

On Dec. 4, Krenek stopped a driver in the 600 block of I-10 for failing to vacate lane for emergency vehicle. The driver was issued a citation. Officer Powe advised also that he was on a traffic stop and the driver never attempted to move over and the other lane was vacant.

On Dec. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 90 in a 75. Driver received a warning.

On Dec. 4, Powe stopped a driver in the 100 block of Kessler for defective brake light. Driver received a warning.

On Dec. 7, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 88 in a 75.

On Dec. 7, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of Kessler for defective brake light. Driver received a citation for no drivers’ license.

On Dec. 7, Powe stopped a driver for speeding in the 600 block of W. I-10 for speeding going 88 in a 75.

On Dec. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 88 in a 75. A search was conducted and a small amount of marijuana located and disposed of on scene. Driver received a citation for speeding.

On Dec. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of I-10 for no license plate lights. Driver received a citation for no drivers’ license.

On Dec. 8, Powe stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for speeding going 92 in a 75. Driver received a citation.

On Dec. 8, Powe and Krenek stopped a driver in the 600 block of E. I-10 for operating an unregistered vehicle. A search was conducted and narcotics and a firearm located. Passenger arrested and the driver received multiple citations and released.

On Dec. 10, Castilleja conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Kessler for a vehicle with a defective headlamp. Officer observed the registration was expired.

Welfare Check

On Dec. 5, Kalina responded to the 1000 block of Anderson for a welfare check.

Warrant Arrest

On Dec. 4, Powe responded to the 200 block of Heinrich in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Subject inside vehicle was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
