Schulenburg Man Arrested

On Saturday morning, January 13, Schulenburg Police Officers and Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Texas- Sheriff Keith Korenek responded to a residence in the 300 block of Simpson St. for a report of an active disturbance.

Officers arrived and could hear the female yelling “he won’t let me out” from inside the residence, but no one would open the door. Given the circumstances and nature of the call, Officers forced entry.

The female heard yelling was found to be held there against her will by the male who had taken her phone and wouldn’t give it back. Due to information obtained during the investigation, Chad Guentert (46), of Schulenburg, was arrested for Unlawful Restraint and Interfere with Public Duties. Guentert was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for booking.
