Schmeckenfest Draws Thousands to Downtown LG for Holiday Fest

The 15th annual Schmeckenfest was held in downtown La Grange Thursday (it’s always the first Thursday of December) and one of the biggest crowds in the history of the event showed up.

The weather was clear with just a touch of chill, making for perfect conditions for the sampling of the 32 wassail booths spread out around the courthouse square. The winners are pictured below.

More than a dozen food booths were also doing a brisk business, and several local merchants were open late, filled with shoppers.
