On Thursday, April 27, the Diocese of Victoria Office of Catholic Schools in partnership with Local Home and School Associations hosted the 25th Annual Saint Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton Awards at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Shiner.

St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg is honored to recognize Sandra Warnken as their recipient this year. Sandra Warnken is a St. Rose alumni who spent 21 years as a St. Rose parent over the time her three children attended, which she called “the best investment we ever made.”

Over those two decades, she served terms as HSA and Booster Club treasurer, chaired seven hamburger stands at church picnics, two Veterans Day dinners, numerous athletic concession stands, and an impressive fifteen years at the Czech bakery at our “Christmas Around the World” fundraiser. More recently, she is involved with the school’s Annual Fund committee.

During her time as a parent, there was rarely a class party or project she did not plan or assist for her children. She modeled to other parents and her family how to be ever reliable not just to show up, but to go above and beyond what is asked. Our school and HSA are grateful for Sandra’s example of service and generosity of all resources.
